Portishead’s new album “Third” is a stunning album, it had great reviews all round, and my opinion is no different from the rest of those who loved it.
This video is of Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood cover one of the best tracks from “Third” whilst backstage in St. Loius.
“The Rip”. Two guys. Two guitars. Fucking beautiful.
Does anyone remember Radiohead had an online contest to remix “Nude” from their album “In Rainbows”? Well a few days ago I came across probably the most amazing effort, which unfortunately, was too late to enter.
This piece of genius comes from a guy called James Houston, who graduated from the Glasgow School of Art’s visual communication course. Using an Epson LX-81 Dot Matrix Printer, a Sinclair ZX Spectrum, an HP Scanjet 3c, and an array of hard drives as his bizarre instruments, he created a piece of work titled “Big Ideas: Don’t Get Any”, in running with the lyrical content and alternative title for the Radiohead track.
Not only has the music turned out to be absolutely brilliant, but the video, in a sort of vintage, old film reel style, showing all of his weird instruments doing their bit, is nothing short of a masterpiece.
